Why SK Counselling
Sookyung is a Registered Clinical Counsellor . Sookyung has a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy from Adler University.
Hello, I am Sookyung (she/her)
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and art therapist.
I believe that all humans, regardless of their age or experience, are born with the ability to heal. In order to find this strength, sometimes it takes an outside perspective. Through my extensive experience in relationship counselling, anger management therapy, and life transition care, I’ve learned that while no two reasons for needing help are the same, they all can benefit from having someone to listen.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy. I also have an MBA in International Business and a Juris Doctorate. I am fluent in English and Korean.
I specialize in couples counselling, working with men, working with those going through life transitions and career transitions, anger management, leadership and management training, and am passionate about working with first responders.
I also have specialized training in the following areas:
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Occupational Awareness Training
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Indigenous Cultural Competency
Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy
When not working as a counsellor, you can find me painting portraits in my studio in downtown Vancouver, or playing jazz music on the piano.
